FAQs About Fireworks

Yes, and fireworks are increasingly popular throughout the year for weddings, birthdays and even at summer evening barbecues. Remember that demand is high on Nov 5th and New Year approaches so order early. You can order from our website 365 days a year.

Yes, with certain limitations – Fireworks are not allowed after 11.00pm (or earlier than 7.00am) except on Bonfire Night (midnight), Diwali, New Year, and Chinese New Year (1 am).

Bad weather need not affect your fireworks display, but it might limit the enjoyment of your spectators! Most fireworks can be protected against rain with polythene bags or clingfilm.
Leave it as late as possible before you set them out. Strong wind is a major consideration though in cancelling your fireworks.

The quick answer is no you do not need to remove the transparent plastic film on the top of your fireworks. This film will not affect the fireworks' performance and is merely a thin layer of protection to stop the contents of the fireworks being damaged

U.K. law states that no persons younger than the age of 18 can purchase fireworks. However, when buying fireworks from our retail store we tolerate a strict Challenge 25 policy where we will ask for I.D. if we feel you look younger than this. Please do not take offence to our staff if they do ask you for I.D.—this is simply to ensure we are abiding by U.K. laws.

Ensure your fireworks are stored well away from flammable materials and sources of heat such as hot water boilers or radiators. Ensure your storage area is dry.

Reserve and collect FREE from our London retail store – you can pick today, just come in and we can help you find the right fireworks for you. For any queries, please call 0208 896 2866.

You can only let off fireworks on your own property or someone else’s property, provided that they have given you permission to do so. You cannot let fireworks off in the street or public places such as parks without authorisation.

Securing the fireworks before lighting them is one of the most important things to do. Most barrage fireworks and fountains have a “bury line” printed on the packaging so it is important to bury them to that line either in sand or soil.
Alternatively, you can insert metal or wooden stakes in the ground and attach the barrages using strong gaffer or other adhesive tape. Or put bricks around the fireworks to prevent them from falling over.

Rockets come with a firing tube. Insert this into the ground and make sure it is solid. Make sure that it is not directly below a tree or cables. Remove the bottom orange safety cap to expose the fuse. Slot the rocket into the firing tube and IT IS READY TO BE LIT.
ATTENTION: NEVER WEDGE THE ROCKET STICK STRAIGHT INTO THE GROUND OR IT WILL NOT FLY UP AND THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS.

It is generally a good practice and common courtesy to inform neighbours, nearby residential homes for the elderly, owners of animals, and nearby families with young children by explaining the date and time of the display and an approximate duration.

Once a firework has fired all that’s left is the cardboard tubes and outer shell. You can either dispose of this in your normal black bins.

We do not accept returns or exchanges unless the item you purchased is defective. Please understand this is because fireworks are explosives. If you receive a defective item, please contact us at team@thefireworksfirm.co.uk with details of the product and the defect.
